1964
Founding of HyFlex Corporation
- HyFlex Corporation is founded by Ernie Mills.
- Development and manufacturing of a mobile scissor lift platform begin.
1980s-1990s
Industry Focus Shift
- Focus shifts to developing pumping and mixing equipment for the aggregated coatings industry.
1998
A New Generation of Leadership
- Allen Mills, grandson of the founder, graduates from Purdue University with a degree in Agricultural and Biological Engineering, specializing in machine systems.
2000's
New Beginings
- HyFlex purchases its first CNC fabrication equipment.
- Operations start in a small pole barn.
- Addition of the first 2D laser to the shop.
2006: Expansion and Second Laser
- Second 2D laser is added.
- Facility expands with a 10,000 square foot addition.
2007: Facility Expansion for Large Weldments
- A 26,000 square foot building is added for producing large weldments.
2008: Launch of Powder Coating Operation
- Batch powder coating operation is introduced.
2009: Acquisition of Automated Laser
- First automated laser is acquired.
2010's
Technological Advancements and Growth
- Significant growth through the implementation of the Global Shop ERP system, integrating automated laser programming and reducing quote-to-customer response times.
2018
Major Facility and Capacity Enhancement
- Purchase of a 60,000 sq. ft. building and a 6 kW automated fiber laser, enhancing 24-7 cutting capacity.
2020's
Continued Innovation and Expansion
- Addition of a 10 kW fiber laser, multiple press brakes, and an automated panel bender to the Knightstown facility.
